The aim of the game is to discover as much as you can about the world, as well as uncover as many secrets as you can find. The world changes to reflect a holiday theme as players uncover more and more secrets including snow-covered cabins, lit up holiday streets, and winter wonderland themes. As players make discoveries, they may uncover how to advance the story further, as well as learn the backstory and motivations of the characters they meet.

I created a specific kind of cozy atmosphere, specific to the winter theme of the game. Players will get to visit lots of different places in game from a nice, warm cabin by the fire to the huge, empty forests under the northern lights. In order to make the game as relaxing as possible, I used relaxing music and used lots of snow-like visuals to give a relaxing feeling. Even as the mystery unfolds. Each square of the festive world has many little details to interact with to make you feel more of that holiday spirit. In order to enhance the atmosphere and provide rewarding exploration, I added northern lights and a winter village with a calm, soothing mood. Exploration of the game’s world is very rewarding and helps the player’s emotional journey.
Designers focused on accessibility during the development of this game, using simple controls and mechanics. The result is a game where the focus can be on story and the environment. Although basic interactions are fairly simple, layered puzzles, and hidden secrets give a greater level of depth for players that wish to explore thoroughly. It rewards exploration and being methodical as following clues and odd occurrences lead to the solution of the town’s biggest secret.
